Eligibility guidelines

To qualify for the Twilio.org $500 kickstarter credit and discounted pricing, you must be a 501(c)(3) organization or your domestic equivalent, or a B Corp or social enterprise committed to creating a positive social impact. When you sign up, you will need to submit documentation verifying your status as indicated below.

Qualifications and Documentation

Expanded Eligibility for COVID-19 Response

To respond to communication needs surrounding COVID-19, we have expanded eligibility for the Impact Access program to include volunteer groups and companies working on COVID-19 response and recovery. To be eligible for the Impact Access program, your activities should be in service of public benefit.

To apply for the program under these expanded criteria, please create a copy of this Google doc, complete the required fields, and attach it to your submission when you sign up here, or by scrolling to the bottom of this page.

U.S.

Tax exempt organizations qualified by the Internal Revenue Service, including higher education and healthcare organizations. For other nonprofit classifications and qualifications for public sector institutions, please see qualifications for social enterprises below to determine eligibility.

Proof of status: Organizations should submit a federal IRS 501(c)(3) tax exempt status letter or fiscal sponsorship. For other U.S. nonprofit tax designations, please see qualifications for social enterprises to determine eligibility.

CANADA

Canadian charities registered with the Canadian Revenue Agency.

Proof of status: Organizations must submit a letter from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) or proof of registration with Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED) or your corresponding province or territory.

ADDITIONAL COUNTRIES

If your organization is located outside the U.S. and Canada, please refer to the eligibility criteria for your country listed on TechSoup’s Local NGO Definitions and provide the applicable documentation for your locality. If your documentation is written in a language other than English, please provide an English translation with your documentation.

Social Enterprises and Other Organizations

Social enterprises and other social impact organizations must provide each of the following:

  • Organization statement of purpose including the positive social impact you seek to create
  • Description of populations or customers you serve
  • Description of the social impact metrics you track and how you measure them
  • Link to your organization’s website
